School Professionals' Networking Day
School Professionals Networking Day is a one-day recruitment program that partners schools and districts nationwide with students and alumni to network for full-time positions in the teaching, counseling, school librarian and media specialists, school psychologists, speech pathologists/therapists, audiologists, school leadership, social work and other school-based professional fields.

Times: 8:30 a.m. – 3:15 p.m.
- 8:30 – 11 a.m. | Networking portion open to all students
- 11 – 11:45 a.m. | Employer Lunch/Student Break
- 11:45 a.m. – 3:15 p.m. | Optional interviews: Interviews are scheduled between employers and students during the networking portion of the event.

Student Information
Registration for students is not required. If you are participating in the networking hour, you will check into the event at the student check in table.
Prescheduled Interviews
Recruiters have the opportunity to post their open positions prior to the event to have prescheduled interviews for the event. If you meet the requirements set by the school, you will be able to submit a resume to their job posting via Handshake.
Optional Interviews
Employers may elect to stay from 11:45 a.m. – 3:15 p.m. to conduct interviews with candidates in the LSU Student Union Ballroom. Employers will arrange their schedules directly with candidates DURING the networking portion event.
Practice your elevator pitch. This is the quick intro you will share with employers when first meeting them at Career Expo events.
Look up the employers and grad schools attending. Read up on their mission statements, curriculums, services or products they provide, or any industry trends. Then, draft questions you have about companies, schools, and opportunities. If possible, apply to any jobs you are interested in before the event.

Bring a few copies of your résumé. Not all employers will be able to take a copy for HR reasons, but some may be open to it. Build your résumé using our online resources and templates.
Business casual attire is strongly recommended, students seeking jobs or internships may benefit from wearing business professional attire.

Morning Networking followed by Optional Interviews
Recruiters will have the opportunity to network with students in a career fair style setting in the morning, allowing them to discover opportunities in their intended career fields. Lunch will be held from 11 – 11:45 a.m. After this, employers may elect to stay from 11:45 a.m. – 3:15 p.m. to conduct interviews with candidates in the LSU Student Union Ballroom. Employers will arrange their schedules directly with candidates DURING the networking portion of the event.
Morning Networking Only
Recruiters will have the opportunity to network with students in a career fair style setting in the morning, allowing them to discover opportunities in their intended career fields. Lunch will be held from 11 – 11:45 a.m.
Prescheduled Interviews
If you are interested in self-scheduling students into interview slots prior to the event, recruiters have the opportunity to post their open positions via Handshake. Please follow the interview schedule template and do not deviate from these slots. Please do NOT double book candidates, as registration includes one table/interview schedule.

- Refreshments and boxed lunch will be provided. If you have dietary restrictions, please
contact Courtney Edwards at courtney@lsu.edu no later than two weeks before the event.
- Please note there other dining options in and around the LSU campus for you to explore.
- This registration includes one 6-8 ft table, 2 chairs, wifi, lunch, parking and entry for up to 2 representatives.

Event Sponsorship
Elevate student awareness of your organization and hiring opportunities while improving students’ experiences through event sponsorship!
Your organization is located in a Preferred Placement on the event floor, based on high student traffic areas and event space availability. Placement is at the discretion of the LSU Olinde Career Center.
- Your organization is promoted as an Event Sponsor on the event web page, Handshake student and employer event pages, and in all student and employer emails promoting the event.
- Your organization is recognized during the event as an Event Sponsor on sponsor signage at student check-in, in the student event handout, and is pictured and tagged in an @LSUCareerCenter social media post related to the event.
Employers who register later than two weeks prior to the event (including sponsors and/or employer partners) will not be featured on the student handout, as we will have already submitted these items to be printed. PLEASE NOTE: If you do not show up for the event, you will still be required to pay.
Sponsorship is $350 for this event.
