How to Apply

Haiti

The LSU Abroad Portal will be your hub of information throughout the entire study abroad/away process:

Starting an Application

You've found the ideal program! Now how do you apply? All you have to do is click "Apply Now" button on the program/exchange's page within the LSU Abroad Portal:

Take note of the application deadline and decision dates on the program page. You must complete the application by the deadline. You will be automatically notified by email on the decision date as to your acceptance status. If your program is marked as having a rolling decision, you will be notified as soon as your paperwork has been processed.

When you click the "Apply Now" button, you will be asked if you are an LSU student. Select the correct response and you will either be asked to login via myLSU (for LSU students) or create an external account (for non-LSU students). The system will ask you some personal and scholastic information. Once you have enter this information, you'll be taken to the application itself.

TokyoApplication Paperwork

All required application information that is displayed in purple boxes within the LSU Abroad Portal after clicking the "Apply Now" button. This information is program and term specific. If you have any questions, please email Academic Programs Abroad.

There are three types of application documents:

  • Material Submissions - these paper-based documents can be printed and must be submitted to APA (the checkboxes will be marked upon receipt by APA)
  • Signature Documents - these documents are digitally signed by you through the LSU Abroad Portal
  • Application Questionnaires - these documents ask questions required for application processing

Once you've completed all the requirements and the checkboxes are all checked (like below), this information is sent to APA coordinator in charge of your program for processing.

Note: There will not be a "Click here to Apply" button. Your application is complete once you have finished all component parts.

You will be informed of your acceptance status on the "Decision Date" listed on the program/exchange's page. For the example above, the applicant will be notified on March 3, 2014. If your program is marked as having a rolling decision, you will be notified as soon as your paperwork has been processed.

Post-Acceptance & While Abroad Paperwork

The LSU Abroad Portal will be your hub of information throughout the entire study abroad/away process.

The post-acceptance paperwork process works exactly like the application process. You will be given additional documents through your LSU Abroad Portal to fill out, sign, and submit. Automatic emails will remind you about any outstanding paperwork. Clear all of your checkboxes and you are ready to go abroad! More documents and requirements will be sent to you via the LSU Abroad Portal when you abroad and once your return from your exchange/program. If you have any questions about these documents, please contact Academic Programs Abroad via email or phone at 225-578-6801 (Phone or Skype).
