Provost's Fund: Arts/Humanities Project Support Fund
The Arts/Humanities Project Support Fund provides individual PI grants for supporting the scholarly and creative activities of faculty from Arts and Humanities disciplines.
Scope and Funding
Faculty may request up to $3,000 in support of costs related to scholarly or artistic work. Eligible expenses include, but are not limited to, publication or subvention fees, production costs, materials and supplies, hourly student wages, and professional service fees.
This program may not be used to support graduate assistantships, matching funds for an external proposal, or to support a multi-year project.
Faculty may submit only one proposal per year. If funded, an individual will not be eligible for the next award cycle. For example, a faculty member who is funded in 2022-2023 may not reapply to this program until 2024-2025.
Proposals will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the available funds have been depleted. All funds must be spent by June 30 of the award year and cannot be extended
Eligibility
Faculty whose discipline falls within the definitions of arts or humanities are eligible to apply. This includes faculty in the following colleges:
- Art & Design
- Business
- Humanities & Social Sciences
- Human Sciences & Education
- Mass Communication
- Music & Dramatic Arts
Faculty who hold a current LSU Faculty Research Grant or who hold endowed professorships are not eligible to apply, as these internal funds can be used to support scholarship and creative activity.
Applications & Guidelines
Applications should be submitted through the LSU Internal Grants & Competition Portal.
