Vision

The vision of the SHC is to see students as active partners in maintaining their health.

Mission

The mission of the SHC is to provide, promote, and support services that integrate individual health, education for health, prevention of disease, clinical treatment for illness, and public health responsibilities consistent with the educational mission of the University.

Confidentiality

The LSU Student Health Center is obligated by federal law to keep patient information confidential. We will only share information with the written consent of patients, or in cases of an immediate threat to harm self or others.

Assessment

The LSU Student Health Center has been accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) since 1987, most recently re-accredited in January 2017, placing among the top university health centers in the country.

The Student Health Center Laboratory is also in compliance with the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act of 1988 (CLIA).

Clinical Lab improvement amendments

 In addition, the Mental Health Service doctoral internship was reaccredited until 2021 by the American Psychological Association (APA).
