Student Health Center

LSU Cares works with students to empower them to use campus resources which include: learning how to help students of concern, requesting medication services, accepting referrals to campus and community resources and allowing staff to assist with victim support and advocacy. LSU Cares also provides an online process for students, faculty, staff and parents/families to report concerns in an appropriate way.

CRCLSU is designed to create an environment in which all students, undergraduate and graduate, can interact socially and can be of maximum service to Louisiana State University and the local, state, and national communities. The students must be willing to support those in recovery, be in recovery themselves or have the desire to recover.

Community Resources

“For women, by women” drug and alcohol treatment facility. Journey Home provides a safe place where our staff creates an individualized “whole woman” program that will address your addiction, past trauma, depression, anxiety or other re-occurring disorders. 


St. Christopher’s Addiction Wellness Center is dedicated to implementing effective and affordable addiction wellness programs, helping our patients and their families to gently rediscover the best in themselves and their relationships and to achieve long-term recovery.

The Recovery Center provides addiction recovery resources through outpatient therapy programs including gender-specific groups, highly individualized treatment plans, optional faith-based component, to address both issues underlying the substance use along with co-occurring mental health issues.

Woodlake Recovery Center offers addiction recovery through residential treatment, medical detox, and outpatient treatment.  Woodlake Addiction Recovery Center utilizes Recovery Dynamics that include the 12-Steps as well as a program of action.

O’Brien House offers comprehensive services that includes treatment, prevention and community development initiatives. Services include the following: residential and inpatient treatment, outpatient treatment, Adult Substance Education Program (ASEP) through DWI Diversion, grief counseling, STI Testing, prevention and education classes and services.

Baton Rouge Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism.

Baton Rouge Narcotics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women for whom drugs have become a major problem. NA serves recovering addicts who meet regularly to help each other live drug-free. It costs nothing to attend an NA meeting. There are no dues or fees; the only requirement for membership is the desire to stop using. This is a program of complete abstinence from all drugs, which includes alcohol.
