LSU Vet Med's Office of Wellbeing is hosting a series of events for Mental Health Awareness Week.
Mental Health 101 Lunch & Learn
12 PM in VMED 1205 (Third-year classroom)

Education is important for our own well-being and that of others with which we work and interact. For this Lunch & Learn, we will cover the most common mental health disorders in the workplace:
- Anxiety Disorders including PTSD
- Panic
- Social Phobias and Trauma
- DepressiveDisorder
- ADHD Attention Deficit/ Hyperactivity Disorder
- Substance Use Disorders
Approved CE for DVMs, RVTs, and CAETs.

Got Grit! Lunch & Learn

This hour workshop will review the definition of resiliency and explore the process and strategies for building skills to respond to adversity and challenges. Strategies will focus on developing skills to respond to hardships and the overall impact of resiliency on well-being and mental health.
Approved CE for DVMs, RVTs, and CAETs.

QPR Training
Sessions at 12 PM and 4 PM in VMED 1212C

QPR (Question, Persuade, and Refer) is an internationally recognized suicide prevention educational training that aims to save lives and reduce suicidal behaviors by providing innovative, practical, and proven suicide prevention training.
The training objectives include being able to: recognize the warning signs of suicide, offer hope, and provide appropriate resources.
Approved CE for DVMs, RVTs, and CAETs.

De-Stress Kits
11 AM - 2 PM outside of the Office of Student Success
The LSU Student Health Center will distribute free de-stress kits and relaxation books. An athletic trainer will provide posture pointer exercises.
Dippin' Dots
12 PM outside of the Office of Student Success
VEG: Veterinary Emergency Group is hosting a dippin' dots ice cream pop-up.

Goat Yoga

Goat Yoga Sponsored by the LSU Vet Med Library & the Dean's Office
The LSU Vet Med Library and Office of Admissions and Student Success invite you to GOAT YOGA on the front lawn (weather permitting)! There are two sessions of goat yoga - noon to 1pm and 1pm to 2pm - and maxes out at 50 attendees. Please sign up by clicking one of the Registration buttons below. After fifty attendees have signed up, your name will be placed on a wait list (you will be contacted if a spot opens up). Remember to bring a yoga mat or beach towel. A water bottle and sunscreen are also encouraged.
Petting Zoo

Cajun Country Backyard Mobile Petting Zoo brought to you by the LSU Vet Med Library and Dean's Office.
Come melt away your school stress by petting an animal! We will have a petting zoo set up where you can pet and interact with a wide variety of animals. This outreach activity is open to all faculty, staff, and students of the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine.
